Promise for a girl?

What do you think of the name Promise for a baby girl?

As in "I'm on a promise!" ? Im afraid I think this could invite ridicule especially when shes older.

It’s a lovely name. However i fear it will be a challenge for her as she grows up - So much potential for being teased, not all in a good way either. So, no, don’t do it.

It depends on your family culture and immediate community. Are there a lot of similar names? Mercy, Patience, Hope, Charis, and so on? Maybe Désirée, Precious, Golden? Fine, if so.

If not, how about Primrose or Priscilla?

Haven't Faith, Verity, and Prudence become ordinary names? They are similar.
