What would you name your children if you had them again?

Just wondering if people would change their babies/childrens names if they had them again. Or any names you regret using or not using!

I didn't get to use Clementine. I think I would give them both an additional middle name but I love their names and wouldn't change.

Mine all have unusual names and no regrets they really suit them. Lots of names I’m sad I couldn’t used but was due to husband veto: Dorothy, Daisy, Matilda, Tallulah, Delilah, Clementine, Polly, Luella, Clover

I wouldn’t change my choices but if I had more I would use Juno for a girl. No idea for a boy.

If I had not had to consider my husband’s opinions they would have been Susannah and Catherine

I like all my (adult) dcs' names still, so if you were talking about turning the clock back, I'd stick with them.

I guess fashions move on so I'd probably have some different names on the list if I were young now, having dc.

Yes, but of course we hadn't come across that gem at that point!

No, I like my dc's names.

She's still quite new so probably Jemima which is turning out to be quite the marmite name irl!

DramaAlpaca · 19/05/2026 22:35

Mine are adults now but I'd choose the same names again.

@Giraffehaver Jemima is adorable. Keep it!

SemperIdem · 19/05/2026 22:36

I love my daughters names, I’d use the same names again.

If I had ever had a son though, I would have used Jasper.

CatsandSun · 19/05/2026 22:36

I would stick with the Harry that I have, I remember having Olivia as my top girl choice and that’s changed, I like Mary for a girl.

Advocodo · 19/05/2026 22:37

Would probably keep to the same names.

I like Mary too.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 19/05/2026 22:39

I’d keep the names we used. Still love them!

I am sad that we didn’t get to use Hallie if we’d had another girl.

CaribbeanCupcake · 19/05/2026 22:55

I love my daughters name but if I had her again I would pick Jimberley

Needaglowup · 19/05/2026 22:59

I’d keep the same two names still like them and both my adult children have said they like their names , would of not given them their dads surname tho

Bubblewrapart · 20/05/2026 14:52

Oo good question. Tricky. I love both my children's names for the reasons I chose them in the first place.

However one has revealed itself to have the potential for quite a bit of teasing which is horrible, and the other gets mispronounced all the time. Something I just didn't see coming as they're named after someone I know and I'd only ever heard it said one way before I bequeathed it to my own child and spent 75% of the time correcting people on how to say it 🤦🏼‍♀️
