I do quite like it. Gabriela is nicer imo. Like Gabriela Sabatini. I love Gabrielle the singer, but I always think of her eye patch..

My dd who is 13 is called Gabrielle, but prefers to be called Gabi. We know of a Gabrielle who gets Rielle.

Love the name but I guess I am biased as my DD's name is Gabriella!

OH and I also hate Gaby! She is Gigi! lol Basically came to be Gigi as we kept shortening it to G!

Doesn't matter how much you insist on it not being shortened, the chances are that it will be - either by other people or by the child herself when she's old enough. She will almost certainly end up, at some point, being Gaby.

Or Gobby, as the Gabrielle in dd's class at school is always called, with her own approval ...
