Need a middle name for Avaley to match her sisters

Hey, so I already have triplet girls who are about to turn 4, and I am currently pregnant again! With twins... so aside from being terrified for that(5 kids is a lot!!) I need help with one of my baby names. The twins are both girls, and we have a name for the first one, Emryn Brielle, and the second one we have the name Avaley picked out, but I can't find any middle names I really love with it. All the other girls have middle names, so I feel like she needs one too! I also want to go well with Emryn Brielle, and the triplets are Wren Eloise, Tatum Rae, and Kit Willow, so I would like it to fit well with the others. There aren't any family names to use because I used my family names on Eloise, Rae, and Kit. Also want to know what you think of all my girls' names because I have gotten mixed reviews in the past! Thanks!

I like Kit Willow!
How about Pitti Sing?

Or Nanki-Poo.

IgnoreIt · 13/05/2026 22:04

Avalé in French means ‘swallowed’. Just FYI.

Brielle is like Brie cheese. I've met several people named Brielle or Briella, so I don't think that is hard to pronounce. Avaley with a lee sound at the end. Yes, I'm American, but only 2nd generation. I grew up and currently live on a farm in northern Ohio but spent every summer in Italy until I was 15.

What have what you did during summers got to do with anything? 🤣

OP
The poster asking if you were American was being unkind. It’s a British thing. ‘Are you American?’ = ‘Are you ridiculous?’

Walkthelakes · 13/05/2026 22:11

I think the update that you are American makes a big difference. Brits are generally much more traditional in regards to names and what would be quite out there in the UK would fit in much more in the US. I love your triplets names but I'm not so keen on your proposed names for the twins. They just don't seem to fit together as easily. I like some combination of names the PP have made: Everleigh Ember, Brielle Maeve, Ava Grace. I don't think Emryn works with your other names and I have no idea how to pronounce Avaley.

Walkthelakes · 13/05/2026 22:13

I think your names would work in the USA but would be too much in the UK. I think you need to keep that in mind when you look at the replies as this is predominantly a UK site.

If you want stress on the Ley at the end then you can't spell it like that. Spelt like that it suggests the stress on the first syllable. You would need to spell it Ava Lee or Ava Leigh to achieve that pronunciation.

It means that the whole range of Italian girl’s names have completely passed them by.

Or is it the OP making fun of Americans?🤔

HappyHacienda · 13/05/2026 23:20

Are you in the US op?

So pick an Italian name?

Avaley Sofia
Avaley Mia
Avaley Viola
Avaley Fiorella
Avaley Alessia
Avaley Cecelia
Avaley Livia
Avaley Felicia
Avaley Silvia
Avaley Lucia
Avaley Pia

Emryn sounds masculine. Avaley is just horrible, they both sound made up. But your existing names are also not nice, Wren and Kit are boys' names. Maybe you like your girls having masculine names, perhaps it's an American thing.
Just seems a shame because for 5 girls you could have had 5 lovely girls' names, I don't mean cutesy or frilly, just great names.

SnowFrogJelly · 13/05/2026 23:43

Kit is a boys name

comoatoupeira · 13/05/2026 23:43

I get it! You're saying it in an American way, like Ey - ver - lee.

Not like 'avaler' in a French accent (to swallow...)

So why not do Everleigh? That's much nicer than Averley.

Ignore the snobs, Everleigh is much easier to pronounce I think.

It's what Americans say to be European, like when that celebrity wife (can't remember her name) said that she was Spanish and could only remember the word pepino and not cucumber, and it turns out she just spent every summer in Spain.

comoatoupeira · 13/05/2026 23:46

Also, sorry for being unkind, because you have triplets and you are pregnant with twins, you are incredible! Well done, and wishing you all the best and to your lovely girls.

Ah Hilarious Baldwin. Or Hilaria as she likes to call herself and Hilary as she actually is.

HelenaWilson · 13/05/2026 23:48

Kit is a boys name

It can be short for Katherine - like Kitty.

Kit Willow

Just as well no-one knows their Gilbert and Sullivan any more.

OP had better pray they never decide to do The Mikado at any school or other establishment poor Kit goes to.

I can only assume these names are a wind up, thankfully. Atrocious, the lot of them.

I quite like Atrocious.
Avaley Atrocious surname is quite nice.

Wren is usually a girls' name.

Americans do seem to have a thing for masculine names/surnames for girls, though. Blake, Finley, Parker, Cameron, anything beginning with Mc, etc.
