For me yes, but it's my husbands favourite flower.

Melody, but I like the Malady spelling.

Melody, but I like the Malady spelling.

Melody spelt malady?!

Ooooh, no, no girl/daughter would ever thank you for that. Everyone would spell it incorrectly, and all anyone would see is the chauffeur from Thunderbirds when they see the name.

And 'Malady' is not even an actual name. The meaning of 'Malady' is a formal noun referring to a disease, ailment, or serious disorder of the body or mind. It often implies a deep-seated or chronic illness. Additionally, the term is frequently used metaphorically to describe a severe, festering problem within a system, society, or organization.

@Calliopespa I'd put the name 'Malady' on the back burner if I were you! Actually, forget that, put it in the bin! 😬

Did you really not spot that was a joke?😂

There's always a gentle hope that someone not focusing takes you seriously but this loooong clarifcation was too much to hope for!

Oh yeah, SURE it was a 'joke!' Wink

Just admit you didn't know what the word malady meant! 😆 No shame in it. We don't all know everything.

Oh for goodness sake: do you really think "malady" is so esoteric!

Just admit: hook, line and sinker!

And I'd have just played along had you not written such a very patronising response.

Oh please stop it. 😂

Just admit you didn't know what 'malady' meant. There's no shame in not knowing what some words mean. No need to Google other unusual words to give the impression you know a few less common words! 😂

I will leave you to it.

Peace. Grin

I'm sorry to disappoint but it was a joke related to the fact that on MN many of us dislike yoonique spellings.

The penny ought to have dropped once I told you my meaning if it didn't dawn on you when you were part way through your looooong didactic explanation of malady. Malady is not a particularly obscure word. The joke was simply that it sounds the same as Melody but the yoonique spelling takes it in another direction entirely.

Loretta Sinead. Other contenders are Sienna Grace or Eliza Grace Ivy. Wierdly, I had a dream about 6 months ago that I had a baby girl. In my dream, my Mum (she passed away in 2002) said will her name be Loretta. I said no she’s Lucinda Emma. Not a premonition, I’m post menopause with two boys in their late teens.
