Which spelling do you prefer?

I'd go for Frida. To me it looks more familiar, probably because of Frida Kahlo and other famous Fridas.

With Freda, you might get some people pronouncing it Fred-a.

Do you mean Freida?

LilyLemonade · 29/04/2026 19:24

Of the two, Frida, but actually I prefer Frieda.

This. I would have spelt it Frieda

Frida over Freda but I prefer Frieda.

I have a name like this with a minority spelling, you’re setting your child up for a lifetime of misspellings and mispronunciations; perhaps Freya instead?

We dog-sat a beautiful lurcher gal called Frida so it will always be Friday for me. So graceful.
