We’re not finding out the gender of this baby and have boy name sorted but cannot agree or decide between 3 girl names, we change our mind every day! Baby will have a big sister called Rosie

Eliza
Lily
Molly

Rosie and Molly

MerryGuide · 27/04/2026 14:19

Lily is too flowery with your DD

Molly and Eliza both lovely, I think Eliza sounds nicest as a pair

MissyB1 · 27/04/2026 14:19

Rosie and Molly.

Frrrout · 27/04/2026 14:21

Kindly, I wouldn’t take any advice from randos on the internet, wait and see if it even is a girl and then decide what she looks most like.
But if I had to pick one, I’d throw a curve ball and suggest Lila. To have 2 ‘flower’ names may be a bit twee when they are older, and Molly just gives Molly-Mae vibes for me. Sorry.
That is just me though, and I am just one of the aforementioned randos 😊

YourWinter · 27/04/2026 14:25

Agree with PP to avoid both having flower names. I know someone whose girls both have gemstone names and it’s not so cute a secondary school age!

Cinai2 · 27/04/2026 14:26

Molly is a name of a drug I believe, and it’s also very similar to what German speakers call an overweight person (although this might not be so relevant here but as a German speaker it’s always the first thing that comes to mind when I see this name).

UrsulaBelle · 27/04/2026 14:42

I slightly prefer the name Molly, but I think Eliza 'goes best' with Rosie.

Pemba · 27/04/2026 14:49

Eliza - it's lovely. Goes well with Rosie too.

Molly and Lily are nice enough though (although too many Lilys over the last few decades). Eliza is more of a solid name though, more adult sounding and less of a diminutive. (Although of course it originated as a short form of Elizabeth.)

user2848502016 · 27/04/2026 14:50

Eliza or Molly

LassiKopiano24 · 27/04/2026 14:50

Voted Lily as its my all time fave, but also think Eliza with Lily as a middle name sounds lovely

FloweryPenPot · 27/04/2026 14:50

My DS would’ve been Eliza if he’d been a girl, so I’d use that.

TerracottaBowl · 27/04/2026 14:51

Eliza. Having two flower names, or 'Rose and Molly' as a sibling duo, sounds twee and matchy-matchy.

glasshalffull0 · 27/04/2026 15:04

Yes I did worry if Rosie and Lily would be too flowery as we definitely don’t want people to think we’d chosen a theme for our children

Molly is quite twee and is cutesy for a child but always feels a bit daft on an adult.

Lily is lovely but used a lot and maybe a bit matchy matchy with Rosie.

I like Eliza.

or Maybe Lila or Lilia if you want something similar to Lily.

GrillaMilla · 27/04/2026 15:17

How about Lilian

TheToteBagLady · 27/04/2026 15:21

Is Molly a nickname for Mary?

I prefer Eliza and Lily, but I agree that I wouldn’t have a Rosie and Lily.

How about Elise? Beautiful name, imo

lemoncrisp · 27/04/2026 15:50

I like Eliza best. I think it goes nicely with Rosie and avoids a flower theme.

Cocktailsandcheese · 27/04/2026 16:01

I love Rosie and Lily together but I'm clearly in the minority!

MississippiCroc · 27/04/2026 17:28

They’re all nice but Lily is so incredibly popular and is alway tagged with Rose and May.

CaffeinatedSeagull · 28/04/2026 16:45

Personally would avoid Lily. It’s been a very common choice in the last few years.

Damn.
My girls both have Gen stone names. When I think back to secondary school I don’t think anyone in my year particularly paid close attention to my younger sister or her name. And she was two school years younger my girls are three years apart.

I don’t think children in general care much about what others are called… it’s always the parents who judge / form an opinion solely based on the name.

I don’t think my friends parents (from secondary school) knew or cared what my little sisters name was

BoleynMemories13 · 28/04/2026 18:29

I prefer Eliza, but especially with Rosie. Two 2 syllable names ending in the ie/y sound is very matchy, especially two floral names together. I like Lily as an individual name, but not with Rosie.

Hahahu · 28/04/2026 18:34

And to add at my child’s school there’s a mother with a daisy and a poppy, if anyone’s judging they’re keeping it to themselves very well. She’s the life and soul of the school gates Amanda from motherland without the bitchiness.
The girls seem happy too.
