Taylor (Girl)

I need a middle name to go with the first name Taylor. The only names that seem to pair nicely with Taylor are the typical middle names for girls (Elizabeth, Anne, Grace, Mae, etc.), but I would like to avoid this type of middle name. I am looking for a name that is less common but not bizarre.

Taylor Eliza sounds nice! Taylor Katherine also sounds nice. I know you don't want a common middle name, but I really don't think Katherine is as common as it once was.

It's very untraditional so I don't think traditional names - Elizabeth etc - go with it at all. It's sort of jarring.

What about something like Taylor Madison?

Louise

When I was at school everyone had this for a middle name. Including me.

Could sound like a firm of accountants but I agree Taylor needs a stronger middle name.
Taylor Jean might work.

I don't think it works as it collides with the Lo sound at the end of Taylor:

Taylor should be the middle name IMO. Even if you're a massive Swiftie, there's no guarantee your kid will be and they may not thank you for saddling them with a name which is mainly associated with one person.

Definitely not Swifties! We just love the name. DH really likes names that sound more American.

I think you need a more classic name in the middle.

CoddledAsAMommet · 23/04/2026 18:23

The spelling Tayla is popular in Australia. While not my taste, it may be something you like, and less associated with Swift.

Agreed, but then I think that's the vibe isn't it? I mean Taylor Swift could be a law firm!

Sounds like both efficient and bespoke advice!

Why do you need a middle name? As you don’t really like any middle names it will only be a filler name anyway. Just go with Taylor.
