I like Elsie and Nancy best
Why not narrow them down with meanings or how they go with your middle name choice and surname.

LilyLemonade · Yesterday 20:57

Some of these are really lovely. I think whatever you choose, you can't go wrong.

My favourites are Martha, Anya and Heidi.

Some others that feel a bit in the same vein to me would be:
Stella
Carey
Maren
Linnet
Bethany
Fallon

Bunnyofhope · Yesterday 20:57

Constance, Ada, Hazel or Nancy are best.

NamingNoNames · Yesterday 20:58

Check each one with the surname. Don't worry about the middle name right now.

Some will probably not go e.g. Heidi will sound ridiculous with a surname like Higham, May Nott would be silly.

All the names on your list are good!

These are the ones I like best
Martha
Penelope
Bessie
Hazel
Elowen
Ada
Romilly

Only ones I dislike are Heidi (reminds me of yodelling), Bessie (Aunt Bessie and also cows), and Romilly (clothing brand).

Also what is with the sudden surge of people using Elowen with no Welsh heritage?

Hopefulsalmon · Yesterday 21:18

I like Penelope and Anya. Most if the others are nice but some seem quite popular and will date. I dislike my own name because you could guess my age from it.

Some really lovely names - I like:

Heidi
Martha
Maggie
Elsie
Daisy
Hazel
Romilly
Nancy

LOVE Saffron. Easily my favourite and probably the least used one on your list . Tbh they are all nice; but I'd go Saffron Violet

I think elowen is Cornish ... I'm in Cornwall, it's very popular here ( along with Jago)

Oh, my mistake! Still I doubt everyone using it is Cornish. I’ve just seen it on every list over the last 6 months

Apologies, doesn’t apply to you then. Lovely name just has been cropping up a lot

MississippiCroc · Yesterday 21:36

May - so overused as a middle name
Heidi - nice but quite popular
Martha - dislike, know several. Feels like it’s just another girl’s name where there will be several of them in her year
Penelope - love but also popular currently
Maggie - can’t stand it
Mia - so common it’s dull. Every Mia is a Mia-Rose or Mia-Grace
Connie - no thoughts
Elsie - again so overused. So many Elsie-Roses or Elsie-Mays.
Mara - I like it and only know one
Daisy - twee and agin so common
Bessie - twee and feels like a dog’s name
Violet - don’t like it at all
Hazel - don’t like it at all
Nia
Elowen
Ada - so popular and I’ve no idea why
Athena
Romilly
Nancy - hate it
Sylvie
Saffron
Anya- love
Cassie - nice
Callie / love
Carrie

You're right, it's definitely in trend

NamingNoNames · Yesterday 21:39

@ButterYellowHair , Also what is with the sudden surge of people using Elowen with no Welsh heritage?

It's Cornish not Welsh. It has been cropping up a lot probably because names starting with El are popular. I don't see the appeal and the posters suggesting it seem to want to misspell it and mispronounce it.

Nia is Welsh but it was a bit overused in my age group and doesn't seem like a baby name. I like it but know too many to use it.

cassie

I love Nia. It means bright and radiant in Welsh, and the ones that I know tend to be very cheery, chatty, and terrifyingly organised in comparison to me!

I like Connie, Callie and Carrie, too.

They are all probably your age or thereabouts.

Calliopespa · Yesterday 22:09

I like Connie but short for Constance.
