stinky hippy (sorry)

Nancy66 · 19/06/2008 22:31

Is it a herb or something?

It does sound like a cooking ingredient - would it be male or female? Either way it's pretty awful.

Sazisi · 19/06/2008 22:34

You get blokes called Patch here (Ireland), it's shirt for Patrick.

purpleduck · 19/06/2008 22:37

please don't

ChukkyPig · 19/06/2008 22:38

Patchouli oil was something from the sixties I think? definitely hippy connotations.

Also a bit tricky to spell...

QuintessentialShadows · 19/06/2008 22:40

Gosh if you need to name your child after an aroma oil, why not Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, or actually, Lavender.....

SirJimmySeville · 19/06/2008 22:41

Henna?

chandellina · 20/06/2008 08:21

StealthPolarBear · 20/06/2008 08:23

It sounds like a name the writes of a comedy would choose for a stereotypical female hippy
Sorry

Buda · 20/06/2008 08:25

umberella · 20/06/2008 08:26

WigWamBam · 20/06/2008 08:28

Stinky hippies.

And people will say "bless you" whenever you say the name, because it sounds for all the world like a sneeze.

hannah001 · 20/06/2008 09:46

Stinky Goths as well as stinky hippies.

Bucharest · 20/06/2008 09:47

And the secretary in Bridget Jones' Diary.

JulesJules · 20/06/2008 09:48

OK for a cat, not otherwise. Sorry.

GryffinGirl · 20/06/2008 09:55

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/06/2008 09:58

Juniper, Eucalyptus, Sandalwood,Cedar,Vervaine, Bergamot,
Musk,Pettigrain ?

nappyaddict · 20/06/2008 10:01

juniper and cedar are okaaaaaaay for a girl if you must go down the aromatherapy oil route.

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/06/2008 10:01

Musky for a boy - remember Deputy Dawg anyone /

LuLuBai · 20/06/2008 10:04

No definitely not. Even if you have hippy heritage it't taking it too far. I like MAS's Juniper suggestion. If you must go for a hippy-trippy vibe then perhaps Saffron (although I wouldn't personally), Savannah, India or Uma

greenelizabeth · 20/06/2008 11:55

God no. It just reminds me of 1989 when I used to think the BOdy Shop was aspirational. 5th Form, saving up for aloe vero roll on. NO NO NO.

Comerscroft · 20/06/2008 12:23

MaryAnne----

'Musky' for a boy? 'Lusty' perhaps?

PrimulaVeris · 20/06/2008 12:27

Good name for armpit or crotch spray

OneLieIn · 20/06/2008 12:28

Stinky oil or an impulse body spray, sorry...

Comerscroft · 20/06/2008 12:30

According to Wikidpedia, musk is derived from a gland situated between a deer's stomach and its genitals.

The musk gland in crocodiles is apparently situated in the cloaca (bottom).

Wikipedia also states that the word 'musk' comes from the Sanscrit and means 'testicle'

Anyone named 'Musk' here?
