Baby names!
Hello
I have just found out I am with children after having two already.
I love shorten nicknames.
Example...
Jasmine - "Jazz"
Bonnie - "Bons"
Wilbur - "Wilbs"
Oswald -"Ozzy"
Dilly- "Dills"
I have no idea if these are boys or girls but could I have some incredible ideas please.
I really like the name Rosie, Rose but Roz doesn't have the same appeal.
Thank you

I like the name Jonathan (Jonty) & I know a little Miriam who is nicknamed 'Mimsie' which is very sweet

I have had colleagues called Felicity who was known as Fliss and Florence who was known as Florrie

Surprisingly, I know of one girl who had a one syllable name lengthened! Her name is Clare and her family called her Clarey!

KnitWitsAnonymous · 08/04/2026 09:01

I've just realised my last sentence is ridiculous as many one syllable names get lengthened ~ Rose/Rosie, Anne/Annie, John/Johnnie etc

It's just that I never expected the name Clare to be altered in any way!

Many apologies!!!!

I know an Emilia who goes by MiMi and Jolyon who goes by Jolly. I think both are quite cutesy.

@KnitWitsAnonymous , I know a 'Clarey' too and she gets Clairol quite often. Smile
