When I was 6 I was obsessed with the name and insisted my parents change my name. Luckily they didn't.

To be clear, it's pronounced: Pree-yung-kah..and not Pree-yan-kah.

I like it and have a friend who goes by Priya for short.

Neelam is a really old fashioned name. I don't know any Indian girl born after the 1980s with that name. Also again to clarify it's pronounced Neel-lum. not Neel-lam.
