IAteRosemaryConleyForBreakfast · 18/06/2008 18:28

Makes me think of Drosophila. As in fruit flies. So, it's a no from me.

dizzydixies · 18/06/2008 18:29

sorry for blatant hi-jack

LaylaandSethsmum · 18/06/2008 18:30

One of the ugly sisters was named this.

PrimulaVeris · 18/06/2008 18:32

The zoo

BagelBird · 18/06/2008 18:34

Hmmm... does lovely Aunt Drusilla have a middle name? Failing that, did she have a pet rabbit called Lucy or Hannah perhaps...
Only teasing - if you and DH like it, then what the heck

Stars22 · 18/06/2008 19:32

Horrible its the name of the ugly step sister from cinderella.

IAteRosemaryConleyForBreakfast · 18/06/2008 23:48

Can't do that - There was a vampire in buffy the vampire slayer that was drusilla and I think its too much of a cult show for it not to come up.

Sorry

Joolyjoolyjoo · 19/06/2008 00:53

Immediately thought fruit-fly- sorry!

Comerscroft · 19/06/2008 10:11

I remember in the Telegraph, a triplet birth announcement. They were called Drusilla, Camilla and Priscilla.

LadyThompson · 19/06/2008 10:50

Oddly this name popped into my head yesterday. I rather like it, but can't quite think of a nice way of shortening it

AbbeyA · 19/06/2008 20:13

It was my great-aunts name. I can see why it has never been very popular.

MrsDanvers · 19/06/2008 20:48

Yuk!

Elasticwoman · 19/06/2008 20:59

Drusilla was the name of the Roman Emperor Caligula's sister. Caligula was the nutter who made his horse Incitatus a senator, had sex with his sisters and waged war with Neptune (according to Robert Graves). He also killed a lot of people. Poor Drusilla had sex with her crazy brother and when she conceived, he ripped the baby out of her womb and ate it.

Still want to call your child Drusilla?

MrsT - Cilla or Silla would be a short form of it.
