Thoughts on the baby name Carolina in the UK or Middle East?

As my username shows I’m a fan of singer KAROL G, if you’ve ever heard of her
but there’s something else about her I love… her real name, Carolina

Spanish way not like the USA state

The benefit of that name is there’s a singer in my country named Karolina, so it wouldn’t be UNHEARD OF to call a future daughter that

I love the name so much but what do you think

all opinions appreciated and thanks in advance

It’s a nice name, and in the parts of Western Asia that I am familiar with and speak the language - it wouldn’t be common but it sounds nice and we would tend to pronounce it similar to but not exactly like the Spanish pronunciation.

I've never heard of Karol G but I think Carolina is a very nice name. It would be fine in the UK and I guess in the Middle East - although obviously not a Middle Eastern name.

It’s beautiful.
I would probably spell it Karolina or if you go for Carolina lots of people will pronounce it like the US state in the UK

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 27/03/2026 17:28

I think it’s probably due a comeback.

alexdgr8 · 27/03/2026 17:31

I prefer Caroline .
But it's perfectly acceptable either way.
Good choice.

Why all the threads?

Serenity75 · 27/03/2026 19:00

How would it be pronounced if not like the us state? I thinking I saw it with either a k or c at the beginning I’d assume caro liner

NamingNoNames · 27/03/2026 19:01

Caroleena , @Serenity75 .

Why all the threads?

I was going to ask the same thing. This is at least the fourth thread from this poster asking about different names.

plinkityplink · 27/03/2026 19:06

I know a Carolina and she is continually being called Caroline, it really annoys me I don’t know about her!!

SooooAIBU · 27/03/2026 19:14

It’s nice but it will get pronounced like the US states.

NamingNoNames · 27/03/2026 19:20

5 threads and 'future' baby is mentioned in them.

Because I’m a name lover and want opinions on future names

I would pronounce it like the state, but if it had a K I would sound it the Spanish way.

NamingNoNames · 27/03/2026 19:38

Are you actually pregnant @KarolGFan ?

Snorlaxo · 27/03/2026 19:44

I’m guessing like Carolina Herrera (Caro-leena) which is a classy association.

In the UK people would assume Caro- liner until they were corrected. Using Karolina might help.
