Help me decide: what do you think of the name Martina?

Help me like this name please, for FUTURE use

I get on and off on Martina
I love it some days and then no
What do you guys think of it

Really dislike it. Lots of them in Ireland years ago. I used to work with one. Rough as a badgers arse.

It would often get shortened to Mar or Marty or Tina so I would avoid.

Its OK to me, neither love nor hate.
But you have to love your children's names. Not have good days and bad days with it.

It’s just reminded me of the only one I have known - Irish descent at school in NW London in 70/80s - a truly beautiful soul always wonder where she ended up!

I don’t like it as a name tho and always associate it with those types of names that are honouring male relatives - like Michaela, Kevina, Davina etc but maybe they are names in their own right?

I also link it to Irish women about my age (50+). Unless there’s a family connection I wouldn’t choose it, or go with Martine.

I've never been wild about it but it certainly isn't the worst I have ever seen/heard of

If you like it then go for it. It does sound like you are wavering though.
