cannot agree on any names with husband.
I like traditional names, especially Esme. Loved Charlotte but can’t have Charles and Charlotte.
Help!

Felicity sounds perfect to me. Not usually my go to name but I like it in that combination a lot.

I know siblings with names like John and Jane (3 sets), Evan and Iain, Mary and Miriam.
Would you think twice about Jacqueline and James or Caroline and Charles?

If you love the name Charlotte, use it.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 26/03/2026 22:33

I agree that felicity sounds great with those names

Definitely not Charlotte with Charles. Can you imagine if they both choose the nickname Charlie! It would be like having a Josephine and a Joseph or a Michael and Michaela.
I like
Emma
Harriet
Josephine
I also like Esme

Thank you for the many suggestions.
Juliet has made it on the list so at least we have a start now!

I'd say it has to be a relatively traditional name but, as that's what you want anyway, I don't think you can go wrong.

Charles and Alexanders that I teach/have taught recently have had sisters called:

Sophia, Harriet, Isabella, Audrey, Isabelle, Olivia, Matilda, Lucy, Imogen, Natasha, Katie and Amelia.

TheFamousMrEd · 27/03/2026 14:28

I have an Alexander and an Eleanor. I think they go well together :)

Out of curiosity, does your son ever get called Charlie, or just Charles? We love the name Charles but my husband isn't a fan of Charlie. (I am - I think it's adorable!) Realistically trying to figure out whether sticking to the full Charles is even possible!
