We will find out next week if we’re having a boy or girl but seriously considering this one if it’s a girl!

For context, my husband is French but we currently live in an English speaking country. Our baby will grow up speaking both English and French.

Also curious to hear what nicknames come to mind :-)

I once met a toddler Renesmee (although not sure how they spelt it) - I asked the mum if it was from Twilight and she said yes!

I have an Esme (pronounced Esmay). She’s an Es. She’s learnt to correct everyone calling her Esmee which is common here in the West Country.

This is one of my irrational thoroughly dislike names. Please ignore me and move on

I was going to say too frilly and I prefer Esme but then I saw your DH is French, so in that context I really like it. I don’t think there is an automatic nickname but I’m sure something will evolve!

Go for Esmé or Esmée.

nicknames:
ezzy
mimi

In 40 years I never taught an Esme, nor do I remember there being one in any other classes.

It's OK. Not a great name but not awful either.
