I love Rose, think it's an adorable name.
I prefer the spelling Ellen but otherwise think it's a great choice.

Not sure of the spelling of Ellyn, how do you pronounce it?

Aero · 17/06/2008 15:36

Sounda a bit like Rosalyn, but very nice. Assume she's just be known as Rose?

MrsBadger · 17/06/2008 15:36

Rose is lovely but prefer Ellen spelt the traditional way

pagwatch · 17/06/2008 15:37

Ellen is nice
Ellyn is trying too hard
Rose is lovely

I like it and although usually I only like traditional spellings I think that given your reasons and that it's a middle name Ellyn is fine.

Rose is beautiful

Ellyn, imho looks like you can't spell. sorry.

The sentiment however is lovely ...can you use both names perhaps?

Rose Helen Lynda? Or do you feel that is too much?

TwoFirTreesToday · 18/06/2008 14:09

Its nice, and the different spelling is fine as it has meaning. Its pretty and I bet both Grannies will be thrilled!

joedar · 18/06/2008 23:03

Why not try Roselyn get it all in one and you could shorten it to Rose. I love the name rose it was my mother in laws name so we called one of daughters Layla Rose.

I love Ellen. Ellyn takes the simplicity out of it and ruins it imo.

What about Roslyn?? Just a suggestion.

Tas1 · 20/06/2008 13:01

My daughters second name is Rose-ellen after her Great Gran.
