Brother for Leo

Billycoral · 06/03/2026 17:17

Our son is called Leo. His baby brother soon to arrive and we like the name Arthur (Art, Artie as NN) or Archie as his sibling. Any other name suggestions are welcome too.
i seen a few posts about Archie not growing well into adult and cutesy or being associated with the royals. Also seen Arthur being a bit too old grandad. Opinions please!

both fine. Love Arthur and not too crazy about nicknames, nor about Archie in particular, but nothing technically wrong with both of these.

when he grows a young man many of his peers will have cutesy name. Should not bother him. I would personally choose longer name, but I would use full name occasionally. If you only plan to use nickname, I would use nickname on BC because some people hate having official name nobody is using IRL
Also full name for Archie are Archer and Archibald. Archie better in this case.

Theo

Muckypig · 06/03/2026 17:28

Not Theo 😂
Loads of Archies around here and it's a bit of a "little monkey" name on a register, but Arthur is nice. Or Alfred (Alfie/Teddy/Freddy)?

user2848502016 · 06/03/2026 17:35

I love Arthur, but agree Archie is a bit cutesy for an adult

BoleynMemories13 · 06/03/2026 18:22

I much prefer Arthur. It's sweet on a young boy but grows well into adulthood.

I'm really not keen on Archie. It's very common around me and I know some real tearaways with that name so I don't have great associations with it.

Hedjwitch · 06/03/2026 18:33

Archie is very popular and Arthur becoming more so. Martin? ( Marty?)

PShelp · 06/03/2026 18:47

I like Arthur, not keen on Archie. I know pp said not Theo but I like Leo and Ted together! What about Fred? I also like Jack.

Eenameenadeeka · 07/03/2026 02:58

Arthur is a lovely name. Archie is such a cute nickname. Could use Archer, and then he has a less cute name for when he's older.

lottiegarbanzo · 07/03/2026 07:39

Felix or August if you want a themed pair.

lottiegarbanzo · 07/03/2026 07:44

if you like old man names Wilfred is nice - Wilf or Fred. How about Edmund?

arlequin · 07/03/2026 07:45

Please don’t worry what others think! Archie and Arthur are both great

Agree.

Arthur is lovely but I'm not keen on Archie.

Arthur is good, Archie is not a real name.

user1492757084 · 08/03/2026 15:00

Leo and Arthur go well.

Do you like Artan?

UninitendedShark · 08/03/2026 17:02
