Your thoughts on Isaac Matthew?

Hi me and my husband are expecting a boy, we both absolutely love Isaac. We picked Matthew for the middle name, your thoughts on the two names?

Oh i like it, although i prefer Mathew Issac, but either way both great names.

Strikes me as very religious. I’ve never really liked Isaac personally, really like Matthew though. Friendly, well known, rarely used these days - perfect!

I always think Matthew and Daniel are lovely boys names and great when older too - it seems ‘out of fashion ‘ these days - but I would go for classic every time

I’m a teacher and there used to be lots of Matthews in my classes, now there’s quite a few Isaacs. I have not taught a Matthew for about 8 years.

My own preference, like a PP, is Matthew Isaac but it does depend on your surname.

I really like both.

I mean it’s fine. Nothing exciting, they go together. There are loads of Isaacs around.

Matthew Isaac flows better I think, and Matthew offers more options for shortenings.

Isaac is more common these days, though often spelled in a variety of ways as per this thread!

The Matthew Isaac might flow better but he'll be Isaac Surname most of the time.

@ThisSassyQuoter , don't put the middle name at the start because it's a PITA.

It's just as Biblical as David John or Samuel James.

Classic, conservative, safe choice. A little dull? Religious?

Isaac is teasable with I suck, unfortunately. Once I heard that, I can’t ‘unforget’ it.
