I know it's overused in the middle, but what do you think of Mae (spelt this way) as a first name?

not keen, I think of the American deep south

I think you'd forever be saying "no, its M-A-E, not M-A-Y"

I know one - it's not my favourite name but it's ok. Sorry not to be more excited.

I like it but I think you'll spend your life saying "Mae - M-A-E, no, not Y, E ..."
That said, increasingly few names seem to have one, definitive spelling.
As always, I say: if you like it, then go for it.

our dd is mae (in the middle)

my middle name is mae, it was my great grandmas first name and it will be my DD's middle name in 9 weeks time - spelt Mae everytime.....xx
