Patron Saint of Music I think.

Nice name.

nickytwotimes · 13/06/2008 10:44

Lovely

Anna8888 · 13/06/2008 10:44

Cecilia ex-Sarkozy.

A complete no-no at the moment.

VictorianSqualor · 13/06/2008 10:45

Ceciiiiiiiiilia, you're breaking my heart, you're shaking my confidence daily

schneebly · 13/06/2008 10:45

nice - makes me think of the Simon and Garfunjel song.

"Cecilia you're breaking my heart..."

schneebly · 13/06/2008 10:46

lol VS!

crumpet · 13/06/2008 10:46

Like it but think I prefer Celia

chutneymary · 13/06/2008 10:49

She is the patron saint of musicians .

Was my first choice but would make the baby sound almost like the woman in brief encounter with my surname so went for Lucy instead.

Pen74 · 13/06/2008 10:50

Too hissy.

castille · 13/06/2008 10:53

I quite like it.

What about Cecily? I know one and she's adorable

puffylovett · 13/06/2008 10:55

AtheneNoctua · 13/06/2008 10:56

I think it's a very pretty name.

Cecile is nice too.

Spink · 13/06/2008 10:57

I have a lovely friend called Cecilia, so my associations with it are fab! I love it, it is unusual but not odd, & feminine but not too girly.
We use my friend's full name, but it also gets shortened, to:
Cec, Cecly, Beely, Cecil, Celia.

Go for it!!

margoandjerry · 13/06/2008 11:05

My DD's name . It's beautiful and I love singing her the Simon & Garfunkel song.

katierocket · 13/06/2008 11:06

Idina · 13/06/2008 11:10

Prefer Celia.

branflake81 · 13/06/2008 11:26

Making love in the afternoon with Cecilia, up in my bedroom.....

margoandjerry · 13/06/2008 11:27

I sing her the chorus, bran

cosima · 13/06/2008 11:28

lovely, could be shortened to Sissy like spacek. its cool and posh and girly and classic

DartmoorMama · 13/06/2008 11:34

its nice. different but not odd

LadyThompson · 13/06/2008 11:38

Seriously considered it. But my Mum pointed out that it would get shortened to Sissy and that might not go so well at school. Not that it is good to listen to mothers in these matters (the name she gave me wasn't much cop)

AtheneNoctua · 13/06/2008 11:54

I didn't think I've ever heard of cecelia being shortened to Sissy. Just looked up Sissy Spacek to see what her real name is and it turns out they got Sissy out of Mary Elizabeth. Seems a bit of a stretch .

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/06/2008 12:08

I like it
If this baby is a girl Cecile is my No 1 choice as my dh wont go for Genevieve. Tried for 1st dd but no. Asked again, still noooooooo

Tortington · 13/06/2008 12:10
