I have a wee one called Magnus & I'm struggling to match a boys name with it for a sibling.

Names I like but not sure if they go.

Kester
Otis
Ezekiel
Felix

I feel Magnus is a strong feeling name so want to match the energy.

Any suggestions?!

Thanks!

Kester is the best from your list.
Ezekiel - too long, will be Zeke
Otis and Felix sound wet to me.

How about Torben?

Plankton89 · 15/01/2026 09:31

We have a Murray.

I also really like the name Kerr.

Sorry but Kester makes me think of Fester 😬

Ezekiel- He will likely be having to spell it out each time and a mouthful. Well, 4 syllables.
Otis and Felix I like.

Torsten
Seton
Oskar/Oscar
Henrik
Axel

ooh Magnus and Torben is great @CrostaDiPizza

MamaBobo · 15/01/2026 09:58

We have a Magnus! I like Torsten and Oskar from the suggestions. More Scottish than Nordic would be Hector or Ruairidh or Rory…all strong names.

Thorsten or Thorstan
Magnus is really nice.
Kester I like very much too.
If the name makes me think of any other word it would be Kestrel ( predatory bird).
Harald
Halsten
Arne

I think Felix is the opposite to Magnus in terms of the energy it gives! How about Fraser?

ShyCoralOrca · 15/01/2026 16:23

Sorley (anglicised version of Somhairle)
Zander (from Alexander, although I prefer Sandy as a nn)
Or a Scottish surname? Eg. Campbell, Murray, Dallas, Lennox, Lamont?

Torquil (I think this is Norse?)
Brodie

Surname is Fraser & our families have a lot of old Scottish names.

Yeah I like Felix but it's not heavy energy. It's light. Where we live a lot of old Scottish names are used quite often so looking for something not on the 100 popular list kinda thing.

I really like Viggo, never heard of it before.

Kester comes form Christopher which I quite like. Wasn't sure if it's energy though.

Thanks for the suggestions

Ranulf
Keir

I don't quite think your initial list has the same energy as Magnus which is very strong.

RegalDiamondMonster · 15/01/2026 17:21

Thorfinn
