Hello!

We are expecting our first DD soon and finding it hard to choose a name. Please help us pick!

What are your favourites from the list below? Any other suggestions?

Matilda
Tabitha
Florence
Cassia
Zoë
Sylvie (seen this on lots of threads lately and it’s really growing on me!)

Florence.
Cassia.
i also love the name Rowena.

Liftedmeup · 13/01/2026 10:35

Zoe by far. I wouldn’t use the diacritical marks, just as we don’t use them on Chloe any more. I like Cassia as well.

AgentPidge · 13/01/2026 10:37

Zoe seems very 80s to me. I've always loved Tabitha. Saskia?

Watchoutfortheslowaraf · 13/01/2026 10:41

Sylvie is pretty. I also like Silvia. Although appreciate some people think it looks like sliver or saliva.

i also really like cassia.

Flowers999 · 13/01/2026 10:43

Sylvie is lovely but does remind me of Emily in Paris!

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 13/01/2026 11:03

Cassia is a type of cinnamon.

BoleynMemories13 · 13/01/2026 15:58

I like Florence and Zoe, Matilda is ok.

The other names aren't my style.

GRCP · 13/01/2026 16:02

Matilda all the way!

PistachioTiramisu · 13/01/2026 16:12

Like them all - in addition how about

Sabrina
Stephanie
Francesca

HarvestMouseandGoldenCups · 13/01/2026 16:20

I like Tabitha

Moreteaandchocolate · 13/01/2026 19:33

In order of preference

  1. Zoe - would suit me, my primary and secondary age girls equally as well
  2. Sylvie - I like this but my teenager would find it too cutesy and go by “Sylv”!
  3. Cassia - nice, but would likely become “Cass” in secondary school
  4. Florence - nice but not keen on Flo
  5. Matilda - a bit prissy as a full name and Tilly is nice for a little one, less for a teen / adult
  6. Tabitha - like but not keen on Tabby
ChocoChocoLatte · 13/01/2026 19:37

I loved Sylvie but would have used Sylvanna

Fruityxx99 · 13/01/2026 19:38

Cassia and Sylvie get my vote.

Both were on my list for my baby daughter. 😊

user2848502016 · 13/01/2026 20:01

Voted Matilda as I think it’s pretty but also a good classic name that won’t get dated. Also Tilly is nice as a short version.

I do really like Sylvie too but feel it might get dated.
Tabitha is also nice but don’t like Tabby

Not keen on Cassia

elm26 · 13/01/2026 20:11

I love Matilda and have a Tilly 🥰

ThatshallotBaby · 13/01/2026 20:14

Sylvie is just lovely

Fatiguedwithlife · 13/01/2026 20:19

Never heard of Cassia, too much like Casio imo.
the rest are all nice however she may be one of dozens in her school.
That being said I’d pick Zoe as its a fab name but won’t be too common

ladygindiva · 13/01/2026 20:48

We have a little Zoe in the wider family, it's a lovely name.

fruitbrewhaha · 13/01/2026 20:49

Sylvette is another version.

TheFairyCaravan · 13/01/2026 20:57

I really like Cassia or Sylvie.

Definitely not Zoe. It’s really dated.

downunder50 · 13/01/2026 20:57

I really like all of them tbh, I think Sylvia might become Sylv though, which I don't like much. I wouldn't put the accent on Zoe, but i don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices, I don't even know which to choose!

Helplessandheartbroke · 13/01/2026 22:09

Iamacatslave · 13/01/2026 10:32

Florence.
Cassia.
i also love the name Rowena.

Been watching absentia? Lol

Mumofgirls2017 · 14/01/2026 06:40

Love all of them apart from Zoe (nothing major, just find a bit dated). Matilda is my favourite. Other suggestions

Eliza
jemima
beatrix
eloise
helena
clara
dorothy
daphne
martha
esther
meredith

EleanorReally · 14/01/2026 06:46

Matilda quite popular
Tabitha i like this
Florence
Cassia i like this
Zoë
Sylvie i like this

i do like them all though

Sofiatheworst · 14/01/2026 09:40

I voted Florence. I do actually prefer Matilda, and that was on my list. But I don’t like Tilly and knew I wouldn’t be able to control their shortening choice once they went to school.
