Opinions on Esme and Ismay?

Both names are of French origin and have the same meaning.

Both names have been recorded as girl names since the 16th century.

Esme seems a better option to me: interesting name with conventional spelling. You could add the accent for clarification: Esmé (Ezzmay) vs Esme (Ezzmee).

What about Yseult?

I like Ismay.

I came across the name Isamay (with the a) on an old grave dating back to the late 1800's. I thought how nice it sounded but never come across it before.
