As the title suggests

I like Mabel.

GoldenRosebee · 22/12/2025 09:09

Mabel

StationSquare · 22/12/2025 09:12

100 percent Mabel
I like Millie but there are loads of them and I think nicer if short for something eh Amelia, Emily

awrbc81 · 22/12/2025 10:36

Mabel, although Mabel is quite popular at the moment so may end up dated. If you went for Amelia/Camilla/Emily with Millie for short it’s more timeless

DuchessOfNarcissex · 22/12/2025 12:15

Millie, but I'd think it was short for something.
I don't like Mabel - it sounds frumpy.
How about Martha or Mirabelle?

bridgetreilly · 22/12/2025 12:19

Not Millie.

I don’t mind Mabel, but there are a lot of nicer granny-chic names, imo.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 22/12/2025 12:20

I really wouldn't use Millie as a full name - it is too babyish/nicknamey although it's sweet

So either something like Camilla nn Millie, which is probably what I'd go for

Or Mabel, which is perfectly nice

thegirlwithapearl · 22/12/2025 12:21

Mabel is pretty, Millie is boring

Goandygo · 22/12/2025 12:23

I like Millicent / Millie
I don't like Mabel.

candycorns · 22/12/2025 12:24

Mabel is my dogs name 🐾 (sorry!)

24Dogcuddler · 22/12/2025 12:27

I like Mabel. Millie was popular a while ago short for Amelia usually. Our border collie was called Millie.

OSTMusTisNT · 22/12/2025 12:31

I prefer Millie of those 2 options but would use Camilla or Camellia as I can't picture a high powered, business suit wearing, 50 year old Millie.

Not keen on Mabel, I think of that as a dogs name as that was the name of the 1990's Blue Peter dog.

Pranksters · 22/12/2025 12:48

Mabel.

Millie is so meh. There are billions of them. Especially if it gets Rose stuck after it.

BoleynMemories13 · 22/12/2025 14:00

I've never been a fan of Mabel, so Millie by default. I do find it a bit nicknamey though. A longer name (Amelia, Emily etc) known affectionately as Millie would be my preference.

wizzler · 22/12/2025 14:01

Mabel

LoudPlumDog · 22/12/2025 14:04

Millie 100%

RuthW · 22/12/2025 16:21

Mabel. Millie is too nicknamey

thes0undofmusic · 22/12/2025 16:31

Mabel

Giraffehaver · 22/12/2025 22:50

Millie short for Romilly. I'm obsessed with that name

49mumof6 · 22/12/2025 22:52

Mabel, it was my nans name and I wish I had loved it 26 years ago as much as I do now and I would have used it 😊

Moreteaandchocolate · 22/12/2025 23:27

Both are lovely, but Mabel is my favourite

Foxcubforest · 22/12/2025 23:56

Mabel

cupfinalchaos · 23/12/2025 00:21

Millie

user1492757084 · 23/12/2025 02:46

Millie.

Camilla
Millicent
Matilda

LivingTheDreamish · 23/12/2025 03:50

Millie isn't really a proper name and is very overused, so I vote for Mabel.
