Which one do you prefer - if you dislike all 3, what other suggestions for a similar vibe?

I think Harvey has a very different feel from the other two.

I much prefer Harry and Henry, but personally I'd only use Harry as nn for Henry or - and here is my suggestion - Harold, which is a brilliant old Anglo Saxon classic that gets overlooked and shortens really well to Harry, but gives him something a bit fresh and different (yet still totally classic and traditional) as BC name.

Henry

DappledThings · 16/12/2025 22:54

Henry, then you can call him Harry. But you also have the option of using the proper name or another nickname later like Hal.

Henry and Harry and classics. Katie Price named her son Harvey. I don’t know how else to explain the difference. I’ll get flamed and pearls will be clutched but you all know what I mean.

Pettenell · 16/12/2025 23:22

Harry is my favourite, and I would use it in a heartbeat!

Giraffehaver · 16/12/2025 23:23

Henry of those 3

sesquipedalian · 16/12/2025 23:26

Have you considered Hector?

SabrinaThwaite · 16/12/2025 23:27

Henry, which then gives the option of Harry or Hal when he’s old enough to decide which form of his name he likes best.

crumpet · 16/12/2025 23:28

Henry, which give you the choice of Harry too!

Henry is my favourite. Harvey is my least favourite. I don’t feel like they have a similar vibe at all.

I like Harvey but I think mainly because the girls only Harvey I’ve known is a really nice guy.

Harry and Henry are fine, but they’re just fine. I just find them a bit bland and beige even though I generally prefer classic, traditional names.

James or Joseph if going for a traditional name or Hugo maybe for a H name.

sesquipedalian · 16/12/2025 23:26

Have you considered Hector?

The meaning of hectoring (bullying) would put me off that one

Elopeme · 17/12/2025 08:00

Harry

pambeesleyhalpert · 17/12/2025 08:04

Eh?

Lots of people have these names. And come to that, P Harry is Henry

Koolandorthegang · 17/12/2025 08:07

I love Harry

Henry makes me think of the hoover

NotAllowedToSayThat · 17/12/2025 14:33

It’s so interesting what springs to mind when different people hear different names. I hadn’t thought of Weinstein or hectoring, but Katie Price and a Trojan prince!
