girls names… help!

Whilst we don’t yet know the gender, my partner and i cannot agree on baby girl names, and need a bit of guidance please!!

Boy names we like are;
Elijah (used this one!!)
Myles (probably our next boy name to use)
Cyrus
August
Ezra
Cade
Aries

But, we don’t seem to like any of the same girl names. Some girl names that one of us loves and the other one likes include;
Jade
Amara
Cassia
Eden
Nina
Ivy
… but we don’t both LOVE any of these, and aren’t sure if they go with our boy names or any other girl names for sibling combinations.

Any suggestions or votes on these names would be much appreciated !! :)

I don't think Elijah and Myles go. That said, I really do not think they have to. I think dropping the worry about what goes with your don and any others that may come along might help a nane emerge as the favourite.

Erin.
Eloise.

Onefortheroad25 · 06/12/2025 22:10

I like Eden. What about India?
Saskia is lovely too as someone suggested.

SkaneTos · 06/12/2025 22:52

So you have a son called Elijah? That's a great name.
I think all the names on your lists are good names.

I really like your girl list. Overall I'd say it gives a 'well used but not super popular and more contemporary than classic/timeless' vibe. In that vein, I would suggest:

Amaya, Anya, Alyssa, Alexis, Ariel, April, Aria, Bronte, Billie, Carys, Cerys, Celest, Cherry, Cassidy, Delphi, Darcey, Everley, Erin, Evana, Etta, Effie, Fallon, Fenella, Giselle, Greta, Halle, Heidi, Harper, India, Iona, Josie, Jessamy, Kiki, Keira, Lois, Lyra, Luana, Liara, Mila, Mika, Mala, Nova, Nyah, Nadia, Ondine, Odette, Piper, Pippa, Quinn, Remy, Romy, Romilly, Ramona, Robyn, Saffron, Sorrel, Saskia, Serena, Skye, Thea, Tamsin, Taryn, Verity, Wynter, Xanthe, Zara, Zinnia

But I think Elijah 'goes' better with another Christian/Jewish name like:
Abigail, Anna, Ada, Blessing, Delilah, Deborah, Eden (already on your list, I know - good match imo), Elizabeth, Esther, Eve, Faith, Felicity, Grace, Genesis, Hannah, Hope, Joanna, Jemima, Keziah, Lydia, Leah, Miracle, Mary, Martha, Margaret, Miriam, Naomi, Noa, Neriah, Patience, Phoebe, Rebekah, Rachel, Ruth, Sarah, Serah, Tamar/a, Trinity, Tabitha, Zipporah

I don't really think sibling names have to 'go' though.

You've had some good suggestions here OP. I love Cassia from your list and think it's lovely with Elijah. Can whoever's not keen be talked round?

Peternell · 07/12/2025 05:20

August is also used for girls, though of course less often than for boys. Would you consider it for a girl?
Other girl suggestions:
Indigo
Inez
Neva
Edie
Iris

I love Cassia and it goes nicely with Elijah

Ivy v. nice too, but there are many

Lois
Augusta
Adela
Jocelyn
Ida
Zoe
Verity
Ffion
Athena/Athene
Saskia
Tabitha
Carys

I'd stay off Jade and Eden, on one level they have lovely precious stone and biblical refs.. on another they are in practice bit low end these days. Amara a bit Disney princess (I am sure it has fine origins but that's what it sounds like. Nina is fine but a bit nothingy

snugasabug75 · 08/12/2025 19:46
