I think I'd go with Nola.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 29/11/2025 22:59

I really like Nola
Marley (spelt like that) is nice too.

Hohofortherobbers · 30/11/2025 00:07

I don't like any of them. Have you considered Marnie?

Peternell · 30/11/2025 05:09

Your names are not particularly to my taste, but I would choose Rayne or Marlo.

DelectableMe · 30/11/2025 05:34

Nola - that's really nice, and won't date like the others.
I quite like Naia, but am not sure about the pronunciation.

Backofphone · 30/11/2025 18:25

Love the name Harper 💓

KarriTreeSullivan · 01/12/2025 10:57

Nola - I think Nola is lovely
Marlo - Just sounds a bit sad and depressing to me, I've not heard of the town some have mentioned.
Harper - I really like this name, it is associated with the Beckhams now, but I'm not sure if that is a bad thing, I believe they named their daughter after Harper Lee.
Rayne - There is a character in a country and western drama series called this, and I can only picture her, she was a nice character though. Fits in with the rising fondness for country music that seems to be going on in the UK, might be a bit faddy though.
Marly - It's a dog - Marley, it's a dog and always will be a dog. A wonderful story of marriage and family and loving a dog. You can't call a child Marley.
NAIA - I don't know what this is, or how it is pronounced, I'm hoping the all caps is a typo??

I like the suggestion of Marnie, someone mentioned Darla the other day which I though was quite sweet. Dolly Parton has just come on the radio - Dolly?! Naomi is quite nice?

LolaBumble · 01/12/2025 20:35

Nola is probably my fave. Knew a Finola who went by Nola and she was lovely so definitely shaped by that

KayEmAy · 01/12/2025 21:52

I really like Nola and Naia - also a fan of Lola, which isn't on your list but feels like it's right there :)

miniaturepixieonacid · 01/12/2025 23:06

Nola - Quite like. Prefer a lot of other similar names - Nova, Nyah, Nia, Noa etc
Marlow - Boys' name? Not keen.
Harper - Like it. Does make me think of Harper Beckham but it's such a popular name now that I think that association will fade.
Rayne - Doesn't seem like a name spelled like this. I like Raine though it's very hippy (I have a love for hippy names though)
Marley - Also seems like more of a boy's name. Maybe more female if you spell it Marlie?
Naia - Is this the same as Nyah? I like Nyah. Or would it be said Nay-a. I've never come across that and am not keen.

mathanxiety · 02/12/2025 01:57

Nola and Marly.

Not keen on any of the rest.

Hiptothisjive · 02/12/2025 02:09

Sorry OP thats a none from me. Sounds like another attempt at having an unusual name and choosing a list that has connotations to things that aren’t names.

rainbowstardrops · 29/11/2025 12:10

I’d be interested too!
Its fine saying the names aren’t to your choice but there’s no need to be quite so unkind.

I like Harper and Noa from your list.

Yes, unkind is a kind way of describing that post

falalalalaaaaaaaa · 02/12/2025 03:13

Noa :)

Tuscan12 · 02/12/2025 04:05

I’d cross them all out and start a new list. Either that or keep fingers crossed that the scans were wrong and it’s actually a boy.

localbutterfly · 02/12/2025 04:12

Are you in South Africa? If so, you might find that Nola and Marly (Marley, Marli, Marlie, Marlee) are much more popular/well recognised/familiar there than they are among the mainly UK/Irish audience here - as well as Raine which UK'ers will know but typically consider very old fashioned.

Noa is my favourite of your list; the sound is nice and I like the meaning (uprising, revolution), but it could possibly be confusing in some places where the boys' name Noah is super popular.

BengalBangle · 06/12/2025 22:17

Nola or Naia.

MisterT373 · 07/12/2025 03:15

Names like these will guarantee your child will never be able to buy one of those personalised items you usually find in gift shops at the seaside.

timoteigirl · 07/12/2025 08:47

Have you decided yet? What about Dana

Littlepea26 · 07/12/2025 11:50

@timoteigirl not decided yet. I do like Dana though ❤️
