Elijah? Levi? Caleb?

Friends have named their little boy Elijah. Other baby boys at church have recently been called Levi and Caleb (all Old Testament names).

Caleb, I can handle although I mistakenly called him Cable, but Elijah and Levi are a little bit beyond me.

I am waiting for Moses to appear!

I think they're alright...no more out there than Abraham really.

I would raise an eyebrow at Ham though.

BlueDragonfly · 08/06/2008 19:45

moses is better than abednigo

AbbeyA · 08/06/2008 21:53

I don't like them. I also dislike Noah.

LuckySalem · 08/06/2008 21:55

I love Caleb!

nkf · 08/06/2008 21:56

i like Levi

tortoiseSHELL · 08/06/2008 21:57

I have 3 OT names for my 3 children - but there's OT and there's ottOT. could get confusing.

When babies start being called Jehosophat and Jezebel, you know things are really getting bad!

stripeymama · 08/06/2008 21:58

I know a Moses, a Seth, a Noah, and an Ezra.

tortoiseSHELL · 08/06/2008 21:58

BlueDragonfly - great names for triplets though - Shadrach, Meeshach, Abednigo!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 08/06/2008 21:59

I don't like eiter of those names. But seeing as you'be heard of them in a church environement, I suppose it makes some sense at least.

BlueDragonfly · 08/06/2008 22:00

trtoise - aren;t they all in emmerdale?

thisisyesterday · 08/06/2008 22:02

Anything beginning with J is popular isn't it - Joseph (which is lovely), Joshua, Jacob, Jedidiah (Jed) etc

My ds2 middle name is Levi, i love it.

pollyblue · 08/06/2008 22:09

I like Levi, but pronounced the 'proper' Hebrew way, Layvee. Pronouned Leevi makes me think of the jeans.

granarybeck · 08/06/2008 22:10

I like Caleb

AbbeyA · 08/06/2008 22:12

Perhaps Abraham will be popular again.

orangehead · 08/06/2008 22:14

retiredgoth · 08/06/2008 22:23

...these sound like very fine names.

Well, they do if one has a penchant for wearing worn dungarees and check shirts whilst pickin' a good ol' tune on one's banjo.....

CristinaTheAstonishing · 08/06/2008 22:36

Naughty, naughty, RG. You mean this?
