i know a diggory he gets Digs so sweet

i love Noah but too popular for me know so Digby

LadyThompson · 05/06/2008 17:55

I was about to say Diggory, or Digory, but people have beaten me to it.

If you like unusual names what about

Quentin

RainyWednesday · 05/06/2008 23:52

They were both on my list but DH vetoed Digby for being the biggest dog in the world

(I am too young to remember it )

hayley2u · 05/06/2008 23:56

i dont really like them names to be honest, my bf used to have a dog called digby and noah reminds me of noahs ark.
i like noah best out of both thought x

Noah

Aero · 06/06/2008 00:06

Noah, definitely (biased). Mine is the only one I know of round here too! Nothing wrong with a popular name though - shows good taste!

Not keen on Digby at all I'm afraid, but my family weren't keen on Noah (mentioned it once about halfway through pregnancy testing the water so to speak) and we went ahead (having not mentioned it again until it was announced). Go with whichever you prefer and never mind what anyone thinks!

Cheekster · 06/06/2008 14:09

AERO - just being nosy I suppose but what did your family say once you announced your DS as being called Noah. Im very curious as I will be in that situation in about 5 weeks time.

Aero · 06/06/2008 16:31

They were absolutely fine - if they didn't like it, they certainly didn't mention it at the time.

Ds2 is four now and my mum admits she wasn't sure about his name (ie though it a bit 'far out') when he was tiny, but it's really grown on her and she can't imagine him being called anything else. Noah really suits him and I love it as much now as when we chose it, so no regrets.

LynetteScavo · 06/06/2008 16:34

I love both names - but I think I prefer Digby. I went to school with an extreamly lush Digby.
Noah is getting quite popular.

Weegiemum · 06/06/2008 17:06

I love to tell my 'Noah' story, though it upsets some people ... sorry!

We were in a soft play area in a rather nice part of town (we live near, not in!!)

Mother is shouting 'Noooo-ahh" etc to get small ds's attention.

Dd2 (then 3) turns to me and says 'Has thata boy gotta big boat?' at TOP volume. I shshhhhed her, while trying not to laugh. Her next statement 'well, thata boy gotta lots and lotsa of aminals!'

We are CHristians and weekly churchgoers - maybe that has affected her. But it always makes me laugh when someone says 'Noah'!

purpleduck · 06/06/2008 17:22

sorry, don't like digby at all

def prefer noah
sigh

fiodyl · 06/06/2008 17:51

Definatly go for Digby.

DS is caled Dylan, but DD has always called him Digger

spudballoo · 06/06/2008 20:54

I have a Digby, so I will say....erm...Digby! I couldn't give a crap about the biggest dog in the world or Sir Digby Chicken whatever. Blaaaah.

I know at least 6 Noahs. I know no other Digbys!

He is known as Diggers, Diggy, Digs or Diggy-doooo.

It really suits him. We almost called our first boy Digby, but changed our minds. I'm glad we didn't, his name REALLY suits him but he isn't a Digby. Whereas Digby...oh, he's SO a Digby...

x

Mummato4 · 07/06/2008 07:33

Well I have to say my partner are hooked I think he'll be Digby. Thnak you SPUDBALLOO glad to hear one other. Noah is off as I read my local paper that had baby photos in it and saw at least 6 Noahs.
My partner does quiet like "Obie" Which I think again is different but Star Wars springs to mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
