Initials NAG?

Girls name with intials NAG followed by the first letter of our surname (a consonant).

Would it bother you that the first and middle names spelled NAG?

Thanks

No. Nobody will care.

I’m assuming the A and G middle names can’t be swopped? It isn’t that huge a deal imo- as most of the time (especially at school when teasing might be most likely) all 4 initials will be used to monogram things so the NAG won’t be at all obvious.

However there will be occasions when they are older when stuff could be potentially be addressed to N.A.G Surname. Thinking sometimes of bank letters, possibly email addresses at work etc. But hopefully by then they’d be old enough for it not to bother them or people would be too polite to comment/too oblivious to notice. A friend of mine has gone through life with the initials BO or BOG (his surname is hyphenated) which is much worse and he seems to have managed fine.

I don't think I would do this - sorry. As suggested, does the name work with the A and G in reverse?

BunnyRuddington · 18/10/2025 07:05

I personally wouldn’t. I know someone who had the initials FAT and changed his name as soon as he was 18. It really bothered him.

Moreteaandchocolate · 18/10/2025 07:07

I would avoid it personally.

I would avoid it if G was the surname, but her full name would put an extra letter on the end so her initials won't be NAG. Initials always included the surname.

I agree with the above suggestion though that, if it bothers you, you could switch the two middle names around.

Agree

Thanks everyone unfortunately switching the two middle names round doesn’t sound good because of the letter the first name ends in.
