I don't think that people should be allowed to register stupid, attention seeking names like this. How exactly will that benefit the child?

'I Can't Believe it's not Sugar' would be more unique, and unlikely to be 'pinched" by a relative or close friend for their own offspring.

obviously that belief is challenged when parents post every detail of their children’s lives for all to see, but it gives me a level of comfort to tell myself that’s what they’re doing

I honestly think some new parents get so carried away with choosing unique names that they forget they are naming a person, and that the person will have that name until they are old enough to legally change it (which I’m sure this boy will as soon as he’s able to!).

What fucking idiots. Her husband seems like a total no-mark as well. Unless you actively despise your child and want them to have a life where they are relentlessly mocked and will never be taken seriously, you would never dream of calling your child Forever Sugar. Poor boy - I hope he changes it the earliest opportunity he gets and gets support for the impact of being raised by a narcissist.

Seven isn’t great but it’s liveable. She can always shorten it to more popular sounding “Ev” if she doesn’t want to stand out. Though she’ll still regularly have to put up with jokes about having six other siblings if people find out her birth name.

But what is poor Forever going to do? I guess he could maybe go by Orry/Ori?(Manx/Hebrew boys names). Forever sounds quite feminine to boot as well (I won’t even get into “Sugar”). Hopefully it’s a joke.

When I was a teenager I had a few friends who hated their first names and used middle names, eg. Thelma, who went by Frances.

Zowie Bowie always had Duncan as his first name - Zowie was his middle name although he was called by it for a while. His surname was always Jones because Bowie is just a stage name. So not as stupid and outlandish as this. As for Thelma Frances, fine if she preferred Frances but she had two actual names to pick from whereas what the hell is poor Forever Sugar meant to do?

Not even like his loser parents have wealth like eg the Beckhams that means that their kids will never have to work again day in their lives. Imagine wanting to be a teacher, doctor, lawyer, accountant or basically anything but an “influencer” with a name like Forever Sugar.
