Zachary Elias or Zachariah Grant

I am torn between the name Zachary Elias, or Zachariah Grant. I love the name Elias, but it doesn’t seem to flow nicely with Zachariah. The babies dad, his middle name is Grant which is why we may have that as the middle name. I feel Zachary might be too common, I do like to be different. What do you all think? Which name is better out the two?

Thanks.

Zachary Elias is definitely my favourite 🤩 I prefer Zachary to Zachariah and I prefer Elias to Grant 😊

Just Zachariah and ditch the middle name

I am choosing the first name + the farther of my son is choosing the middle and he likes Elias and Grant so I won’t be ditching the middle name. Thank you anyway.

Even if you call them Zachary or Zachariah they will be called Zac or Zach by school so first name just go with what you like. Rarely will be said with middle name so let the dad choose his favourite.

Zachariah is lovely and much nicer than Zachary

If the question was picking between Zachary and Zachariah I would say Zachary, but there is something rather distinguished about Zachariah Grant, and as both would likely be shortened to Zach anyway I think that would be my pick.

Plus then you can save Elias (or even Elijah to stick with the biblical prophet theme...) for a future brother. Zach and Eli?

Elias it sounds great with Zachary

Don’t like Zachariah at all personally

Zachary of the two for me - even though I usually don’t like boys names ending in an “ee” sound, Zachary seems a nice semi-classic.

Zachariah feels OTT to me, unless you are quite religious. Personally I always feel like those longer Old Testament names sound like they belong better in old time Western films, or maybe even as the leader of some religious sect, sorry 🤣

I prefer both Zachary and Elias!

I love Zachariah as a 1st name. He can always shortened it to Zachary or Zac. When I was chooses my kids names I too wanted it too flow but think,I placed too much importance on that. In my opinion you only use both names when you are announcing the birth to friends etc and other very few occasions. Let your partner choose the 2nd name. I passed my middle name onto my child and they in turn did to their 1st born. It’s was the norm in the past.
