Felix

We really like the name Felix and we're struggling with boys names otherwise. It goes nicely with his sister's name and we really like the happy or lucky meaning.

But does it make you think cat food??

I like it and the cat food association is fading as Felix becomes more commonly used for children.

Honestly yes. And of that cartoon cat Felix. It's a hard association to drop because of the "feline" sound ( and for that reason a brilliant name for a cat!).

But as a pp said, there are so many Felixes now and it has a lovely meaning, Cats aren't a bad association. I'd go for it if you love it. 😸

I remember Madonna using a 13 year old actor Felix in her Open Your Heart video. I wasn't far off the same age as him... Thought it was such a cool name... Now it just conjures up videos of a young boy in a strip club and her kissing him on the lips and skipping off in to the sunset.
Imagine a 13 year old girl in a similar circumstance.

Anyway, yes it's stayed with me 🤣

I like the name Felix. It does remind me of cats and cat food, but I don’t really see that as an issue as I like cats. There are names with worse associations.

I’m afraid I instantly think of cats/cat food, so it’s not a name I love or would use but it’s more popular now so that association will likely fade!

I think Felix is a great name.
I do associate it to a minor degree with cats but it wouldn’t put me off using it if I wanted to, and I would never make that comment to another parent if it came to mind when they introduced me to their child.

I know a very cool 10 year old Felix. I also have a cat who eats Felix cat food. No association of child and cat food for me, and he’s far too nonchalant to care.

No. Or at least no more than Zara necessarily makes me think of the shop. They are popular names in their own right and once you know children with them, you tend to forget they are also brands/products.

I’d possibly tell you to think more carefully about Sheba for a girl (not necessarily discount it, but think carefully) - but Felix? Nah, there’s enough boys/men with the name that cat food shouldn’t be an issue.

It's quite nice. You might find there's a little bubble of baby Felixes around Stamford Bridge thanks to João Félix
