I quite like Ferdinand, Casper or Jasper

Middle names I think Henry & William (we all have 3 names and William is a family name) so I wanted his first name to be something a bit different but not too out there!

Any other suggestions please??

I like Casper and Ferdinand.

We have a Quentin which feels similar in style.

Ferdinand is nice - I’m never sure why there aren’t more of them as it sounds distinguished imo, yet “Ferdie” is a very cute nn for a youngster (similar in style to more popular Freddie). Ferdinand William Henry sounds lovely - but it is quite long so he might end up using middle initials on forms.

2nd choice would probably be Casper. But Casper vs Caspar might be an issue and I admit I still follow with “the friendly Ghost” in my head (but kids are unlikely to be aware of it). I do prefer similar Caspian.

Not quite as keen on Jasper personally - it’s either a very old man to me (because of The Simpsons 🤣) or a black Labrador/Spaniel/other working breed ime, but it might be different in your area.

Would something like Henry William Othershortfamilyname be an idea? Or is Henry too popular for you? I always think you can’t go wrong with a classic and it might be nice to have another family name in the middle as well as lovely William.

If Henry is too popular, maybe Edward, Alexander, Nathaniel or Maximilian? Or you could revive John, Peter or Robert, there’s fewer young ones of those about now.

Ferdinand! Gorgeous, recognisable but not popular. Sounds great with the middle names too.

I love Ferdinand! I have a Miranda so very similar (same play). I would definitely go with that.

Ferdinand, or maybe Casper, from your options. Felix or Monty have similar vibes to me.

I have to say that I prefer your middle names, so I’d use one of those! Or something along similar lines like Alexander or Edward.

I personally really dislike Jasper.

Miranda was on our list :) Such a pretty name! I’m always surprised that it isn’t used more often.

We have a Caspar - so that’s gets my vote! He’s 16 months and we’ve only met one other Casper at play groups.

I love Jasper too but preferred the nn Cass.
