Personally, I find Beatrice very drab.

I have a phoebe. The number of times a stranger hears it and says 'oh what a lovely name' ive lost count..so phoebe gets my vote :)

Both nice and diminutives both nice (phoebs, Bee). Beatrix is a lovely variation too

We have Phoebe but my husband actually calls her Bea

Both good names. I prefer Phoebe. Bea is a great nickname, for both i guess.

Beatrice is quite pretty and I like its literary heritage. “Bee” is a nice shortening if wanted. Phoebe has too many “ee” sounds for me personally and I don’t think “Fee/Feebs” which is likely, is as nice a nn.

I prefer Phoebe.

But - Beatrice is nice too.

So - I'd probably go with whichever goes better the last name.
