I love this name is it too harsh for a baby? Is it too popular currently?
others I like are Vincent and Wilfred

Love it. Could be Frankie as a baby?

ScupperedbytheSea · 30/08/2025 16:25

Great name, love it.

McKinneyWinny · 30/08/2025 16:33

Great name. Although would Frank be a nickname for Francis? I think Francis just edges it for me

BrentfordForever · 30/08/2025 16:34

Oh I can’t imagine it for a baby, sorry 😑, not a teen either tbh

TaupeMember · 30/08/2025 16:38

Love Frank.

And frankie.

lifeontheroundabout · 30/08/2025 17:35

Frank is a good solid name, I like it.
I can't imagine calling a little baby Frank , it would have to be Frankie.
Frankie would probably be reserved for close friends as Frank grew into adulthood.

BoleynMemories13 · 30/08/2025 18:08

Frankie is definitely getting more popular. I'm not aware of Frank growing in popularity in the same way, as a stand alone name.

Personally I think it's quite a harsh sound on a baby. I'd go either Frank (on BC) nn Frankie when he's little, or Francis nn Frankie when he's little and Frank when he's older. I can't imagine a baby Frank.

DramaAlpaca · 30/08/2025 18:18

I really like Vincent. I'm not keen on Wilfred, and I think Frank is awful. Francis is nice, but I'd only use it as a middle name to avoid Frank or Frankie.

Geneticsbunny · 30/08/2025 18:23

Love it. I know a 15 year old Frank.

RaraRachael · 30/08/2025 18:28

My dad was Frank and I think it's time it made a comeback.
He was not Francis, just Frank.

JustGoClickLikeALightSwitch · 30/08/2025 18:34

I know one. Very cool mum. Not a fan personally but it has a hipster/Dalston vibe for me.

Thisismyalterego · 30/08/2025 19:12

Not a name I'm especially fond of - it was an old man's name when I was a child, but my 6 year old dgs is very good friends with a Frank in his class at school. I suppose if you were bothered, you could call him Frankie whilst he is very young, though personally, if you like Frank, I'd go with it.

Snugglemonkey · 30/08/2025 20:00

I like Frank. I would call a baby Frankie but put Frank or Francis on the bc. Probably Frank as ime Francis tends to be Fra, Fran or Frannie and I don't like those as much.

SkaneTos · 01/09/2025 20:24

Frank is a great name!

AllPlayedOut · 01/09/2025 20:33

It’s an incredibly ugly and harsh sounding name. I can’t imagine inflicting it upon a lovely newborn baby.

LancashireButterPie · 01/09/2025 23:05

All very Catholic.

Pointynoseowner · 02/09/2025 11:44

Love it

Pyjamatimenow · 02/09/2025 11:47

Great name

Latenightreader · 02/09/2025 11:52

I'd go for Francis but use Frank as a nickname, but that's my preference with all shortened versions (would choose Elizabeth over Beth, Katherine over Kate etc).
