My DP rubbished every name I chose as well

I like Charlotte (Lottie) but same L as DD2

I think it should be Clementine Clemmie

do your really need a shortened name as you are limiting yourself theres some lovely one syllable names out there (none of which I could ever use of course)

scorpio1 · 31/05/2008 17:20

Otto is great

'o' names are very trendy. my rl mate has an Arlo.

GreenElizabeth · 31/05/2008 17:36

Never mind your husband , your internet buddies don't seem to like Clementine, so that just leaves Cordelia!

What were his comments on Beatrice???

VictorianSqualor · 31/05/2008 17:41

I don't like ottilie
Not at all.

sweetkitty · 31/05/2008 17:44

I know an Odette very pretty name

don't know how it would get shortened though

scorpio1 · 31/05/2008 17:47

you could name a dd after me!

VictorianSqualor · 31/05/2008 17:49

I know an Odette too, we never shortened her name really, her sister sometimes calls her 'Dette but that's as close to an nn as she got.

Mind you I'm 27 and only got a nn about three years ago

MamaTama · 31/05/2008 21:56

Not keen on Ottilie even though a friend has a beautiful DD wth that name.
Aurelie is lovely though, sort of similar but with a certain 'je ne sais quoi' about it!
Ditto Odette, I really like that name too.
By the way, re surname conundrum: is it the first name of a little boyman who battled Goliath by any chance (if so it's my Dad's name...)

VictorianSqualor · 31/05/2008 22:38

Constance?
What a beautiful name.
Ella, Lexie and Connie, OR nancy!!(constANCE)

kittywise · 31/05/2008 22:40

Constance is great

VictorianSqualor · 31/05/2008 22:46

Constance Jane Dn
I'm loving Jane atm.
Call her nancy for nn.

bluenosesaint · 31/05/2008 22:55

Not keen on Ottilie dizzy. My first thought when i read it was 'Attila the Hun'

dizzydixies · 31/05/2008 23:14

pmsl @ hunker Ottilie Bottilie

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 31/05/2008 23:15

VictorianSqualor · 31/05/2008 23:25

dizzydixies · 31/05/2008 23:32

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/06/2008 07:17

There's an ottilie at my tumbletots class. I think it's quite pretty, though had never heard it before then.

I take it you didn't like Felicity? Did you suggest Philippa/Pip to your dh?

Pollyanna · 01/06/2008 07:39

I think Phoebe is the solution. You can call her Bee.

hunkermunker · 01/06/2008 08:27

Aurelie sounds like O'Reilly.

sweetkitty · 01/06/2008 09:28

Right what we up to now?

What about Amelie/Amelia nn Amy

Ella, Lexie and Amy???

cyteen · 01/06/2008 14:42

Oriana, nn Rio.

dizzydixies · 01/06/2008 23:04

can'tsleep am not too keen on Felicity
Pip I think I would prefer as a nn for Piper

kitty can't use Amelia as just been used last year within the family

cyteen thats a nice one, but does it hint more of a cruise ship than a baby name?!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 02/06/2008 07:55

Yes it's cruise ship.

Have we considered Natalie yet (nn Nat or Tali)
or Natasha (Nat or Tash)?

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/06/2008 08:57

Or Stephanie (Steph, Fanny!, Stevie)?

cyteen · 02/06/2008 10:22

dizzy - Oriana is a real name (Italian, I think). I used to know someone with this name but have never been aware of the cruise ship, so I guess it's what you make of it.
