foggy I don't know why but am the same, I want at least a shortlist of boys and girls before we go in as I found it very tiresome choosing dd2's name and it should be an exciting fun tihng, not a daunting task

I have never had a shortlist DD1 has our girls name and was always going to be it no discussion necessary.

DD2 we were between Caitlin and Talia couldn't decide up until the day she was born, after MWs were born we both got into bed with her and said Talia at the same time. Suits her to a T there is no way she is a Caitlin.

DD3 only name DP and I can agree on and it's completely stuck now.

I'm amazed as usually I say NO to every name.

when pregnant with dd1 we had either Ella or Arywn for a girl and Corin or Caleb for a boy

she was handed to dh after the birth and he just looked at her and said 'she's an Ella'

that was that

with dd2 we had Roan, Reuben (nn Rudy) and Jude and for girls I wanted Dylan or Lexie, dh wanted Phoebe or Abbie and Reese and Rudy were in there for a while too

Lexie was decided on as my mother announced she didn't like it and that was that
thanks mum

is Isabella and Annabel not too samey?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2008 21:30

Right dizzy, here are my thoughts.

Clementine is sort of nice, but I spent months playing 'oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling clementine' on recorder when I was a child, and the memory sticks with me!

I still think that Pip works really well, or Penny, or how about Felicity (Fliss, Flic) or Veronica (Ronnie) or Verity?

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2008 21:32

Ooh - cross posted with lots of posts. Tabitha is divine .

I'm with dizzy on that one. I think that Isabella and Annabel are too similar.

Pollyanna · 30/05/2008 21:36

my Isabella is known as Izzy and my Alexandra is known by her middle name - but the thought was there

I also liked Eleanor (Nell) and Florence

I had loads of girls names I liked, but we took about 4 weeks to name ds2.

Go with Clemmie - it's lovely imo.

Pollyanna · 30/05/2008 21:37

(although Phoebe is lovely, we call ours fifi, or Bee).

MamaTama · 30/05/2008 21:42

How about Serena Celeste???
Sounds dreamy to me...

dizzydixies · 30/05/2008 21:42

can't have a Florence, my aunt has vetoed (sp?) it

right so what have we got then?

Beatrice - nn Bea
Clemintine - Clem
Celeste - Cece
Tabitha - nn?
Georgina - nn Nina?
Caitlyn/Katya - nn Kitty

Seren anyone?
possibly Phoebe - dh will be delighted its being considered

Reuben - nn Rudy
Cassius
Jude
Corin
Caleb

OP posts:
MamaTama · 30/05/2008 21:44

Celeste - Heavenly, divine.
Serena - Composed, peaceful, cheerful.
Lovely meanings to a couple of lovely names!
