I thought I did once but I misheard nd the baby was actually called Grayson!! Could that be the case?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 18/08/2025 13:28

We had a boy at school called 'Neon' several years ago. Very little surprises me anymore...

BoleynMemories13 · 18/08/2025 13:38

Racer sounds like the perfect name for a new member of the Paw Patrol. For a child, definitely not!

Baninarama · 18/08/2025 13:45

Maybe they're Russian Jewish - Raisa (as in Gorbachev) means rose

RaraRachael · 18/08/2025 13:47

We had a Zenc at school many moons ago. Sounded like some kind of cleaning product.

PInkyStarfish · 18/08/2025 13:55

Tempting fate that he will grow up and be obese and struggle to walk let alone race anywhere.

NormaSars · 18/08/2025 14:09

Maybe the baby is Acer or Asa.
The baby Tiger I was told about is Tadhg.

There’s a preschool teacher in the US that, for some unknown reason, often posts the first names of the children in her class on her YouTube account when making name tags or whatever. Some of my favourites are Cash, Trillion, Brynnleigh and Thrayne.

I have worked with children with all sorts of names and I’ve never thought much of it but 2020’s names are a whole new level.

toastofthetown · 18/08/2025 15:33

What’s the point of a thread to mock the name of a child who is already named? There’s no advice that can be given so the only purpose is to pile on someone who’s not even here. If Racer grows up to dislike their name, then they can switch to a middle name if they prefer that, or change it totally which is free and simple to do.

AintNoPunshineWhenShesGone · 18/08/2025 15:42

Was it a boy Racer?

NormaSars · 18/08/2025 16:36

Maybe they wanted a unique name.

The Raisa I know (Romanian) is pronounced with 3 syllables, more like Rhy-ee-sa. I don't hear Racer at all.

Gffbjjgfddbjkkm · 18/08/2025 19:42

It was definitely Racer. A boy racer.

Just so awful.

Maybe the parents are fond of Aldi Racer bars.

NormaSars · 18/08/2025 19:55

My first thought was the Racer bars (nowhere near as nice as Snickers).
Is the name better than Titan?

Thedogscollar · 19/08/2025 09:07

I'm a midwife and I delivered a boy called Racer 18 years ago.
