Mine haven't been. Not sure what that means.

My DD's never is so I started a thread on it once because I wanted people to have the benefit of my good taste!

Funnily enough my DD's name is fairly unusual, but not weird, and universally liked.

belgo · 30/05/2008 07:57

dd1 - sometimes mentioned as an unuasl name - rarely gets any strong reaction.

DD2 - never gets mentioned, being flemish/germanic.

Morethanmum · 30/05/2008 08:02

Never seen any of mine, but they aren't very common. Think ds2 was mentioned in a Scottish way once, as a bit less attractive than an alternative. Oh well. At least he is very attractive.

OrmIrian · 30/05/2008 08:03

Two of them have been. Not the third though as far as I know.

RubySlippers · 30/05/2008 08:05

My DS's name has been mentioned

It is beyond the pale as it is unisex, could be a surname and is "chavvy"

ggglimpopo · 30/05/2008 08:26

ds1's name comes up time and time again
Dd2's name comes up occasionally

My other childrens names never come up

devonsmummy · 30/05/2008 11:44

DS's name was on someone's shortlist once.

Oh and when i posted to see if a name I liked was too similar to DS's, was told they sounded like pandas in a zoo!!

nervousal · 30/05/2008 11:46

Don't think I've ever seen DDs name mentioned. Shes Kasia Louise - she's sorted for a country and western name if she ever decides to be that way inclined (Kasia Lou)

DontCallMeBaby · 30/05/2008 11:55

Nope. Middle name gets a few mentions (positive ones, plus at least one mention on a "names that will never come back in" thread ).

Mine got a mention on the "non-girlie but not butch girls' names" thread earlier, that made a change.

Blandmum · 30/05/2008 12:05

ds's is often mentioned and is just about always liked.

dd's gets mentioned in the 'posh names' threads and is generally liked a lot

LOL. I'm so not posh!

PrimulaVeris · 30/05/2008 12:10

Nope - as they are far too boring and traditional to make the Big Time in baby names threads

poorbuthappy · 30/05/2008 12:13

My dd's name is mentioned very occasionally, but I have never seen my name mentioned! (Or I just don't read enough...)

Alderney · 31/05/2008 08:41

I often see DD1's name as its a flower name...

Never ever seen DD2's name....but I think its wonderful for her..

duchesse · 31/05/2008 08:56

Yes, usually in the posh/ beautiful but not usable threads.

DD - mentioned only occasionally, always positively so far, as a beautiful but unusual/foreign version of a common name.

DS-mentioned occasionally - usually positive, sometimes 'too biblical'.

devonsmummy · 31/05/2008 11:17

wow!
DS's name was in Nbq's boy's list (that's twice it's been on a thread now!)
Hmmm hope it's not gonna get too popular
