Hi there,
Loving these short girls names at the moment, but which one shall we choose?

For some reason by swiping it made me vote for Iris. I def so t choose that so please delete one vote from there! Sorry.

Iris is by far my favourite.

Nora is ok, as is Elsie, but they both feel a bit nicknamey to me. Essie is definitely a nickname. Fine as a short form for Esther, but it doesn't have enough substance to it to be a name in it's own right.

Is Eira Eye-ra? Not for me, and I think you'll have pronunciation issues unless in Wales.

I know vintage is in, but Vera isn't due a comeback imo. I only know ladies 70+ with this name, and it's not exactly a pretty sound.

Definitely Iris!

Iris or second choice Elsie

Not Eira unless you’re in Wales because people won’t know how to pronounce it/be able to say it properly.
If in Wales then I like it and it’s quite popular here, obviously meaning Snow it’s more usual for winter babies!

I love Iris. I also really like Ivy. Pearl also has quite a vintage feel and is short. I'm less keen on names that can be short forms for other names like Elsie, Essie.

I vote for Vera, I think it’s lovely and definitely due a comeback. It was the name of a baby in a tv series I watched recently and I love it there. It also has beautiful meanings - “faith” in some languages, “to be” in others.

I love Iris.

Elsie is cute. I really like Essie too but I feel like that's a shortened version of a name, not a name in its own right? But I don't know what for. Vanessa? Jessamy?

Elsie is short for Elsbeth I think, which is in turn a shortening for Elizabeth

From OP's username, I'd guess she is not Welsh, but the pronunciations of Vera and Iris are relevant.

Assuming English or anglicised pronunciations, I vote Iris.
