What do you think to this? I love it but might need to convince DH. Is it too twee? And would it be ok for a baby born close to Christmas?!

Thinking Gabe for short.

It’s lovely! I know a teen Gabriel nicknamed Gabe - really suits him! And a young Gabby. I say, go for it!

I really like the name Gabriel but not if you live in a tough inner city council estate.

Lovely name - always has an elegant look and romantic vibe to me. I think 30/40 years ago there would have been “gay” teasing because of the sound (certainly at our local comp) but these days Gabriel is pretty popular so I doubt it happens anymore.

I know a Gabriel in his 20s. I was a bit surprised when he was first named as I didn’t know of any others.
Soon felt mainstream. He’s a ‘Gabe’.

Sorry, not keen, it’s a bit “frilly” for me and the teen Gabriel I know suffers from his name starting with the “Gay” sound.

I have one. He's 15 and has never complained about being teased for it! Gabe is a great name for a film director, TV producer type. Not that he listens to me.
