Trix, are you serious? We want to call ours Joseph, hadn't thought of people saying that.

Trix11 · 27/05/2008 13:27

I think traditional names rather than unusual but at this late stage Im open to suggesions - cant believe we have no name sorted and baby is due this week.

i have a joseph and its lovely! Never been asked where mary is ! Except the nativity play rehearsals caused a problem, every time the teacher said 'joseph come and stand here (as in the nativity joseph) my joseph went and stood there, so they ended up have him as joseph !!

nowwearefour · 27/05/2008 13:37

I immediately thought of Alexander for a boy and Charlotte for a girl. but joseph is such a llovely name most will go with it i reckon

sannie · 27/05/2008 14:06

I have a joseph thomas and have also never been asked where mary is!!! Never even thought of it myself tbh

joseph is a great name!!!! as is the shortened version joe

branflake81 · 27/05/2008 14:19

Are these names for siblings of a Joseph? In which case I am not sure how important it is that they "go".

GreenElizabeth · 27/05/2008 14:28

Dominic, Cormac, Michael, George or Patrick for a boy.

Lydia, Sarah (Sadie and Sally are lovely too and more fashionable), Rachel, Anna, Martha, Jemima, Keziah, Susannah, Leah, Ruth

boys:
-Noah
-Jonah/Jonas (although to boys beginning with J might cvause problems wiht post and stuff)
-Matthew
-Daniel
-Samuel
(anything biblical I suppose)

girls:
-Maria (not keen on Mary)
-Rachael
-Rebecca
-Hannah
-Sarah

Hulababy · 27/05/2008 16:15

I think you need a traditional name.

eg.
Oliver
Samuel
Thomas
Jacob
Alexander
James
Michael
Matthew
Jonathan
Sebestian
Benjamin

For girls, again I would go for an older, more traditional name rather than a modern one.

Elizabeth
Rebecca
Hannah
Emily
Matilda

Although I do like flower names too, ad think these would wor - Poppy, Daisy, Lily, Rosie, etc. And I like softer names too such as Mollie (DD's name), Martha, Millie, etc.
