Boys name choices - help!

Struggling with name choice, what do people think of:

Arlo
Zach
Zander
Aidan
Kieran
Theo
Sebastian

Arlo - Nice
Zach - Not keen
Zander -Nice as a short form of Alexander. Not keen as own name
Aiden - Not keen
Kieran - Not keen
Theo - Love
Sebastian - Nice

Love Theo and Sebastian

Personally I prefer the spelling Xander to Zander. But I'm not really a fan of any of them as names TBH, except maybe Sebastian.

This reads like my EYFS class register this year 😂

Love Arlo, Aidan and Kieron, and your other choices are nice. Theo is quite popular in my area at the moment.

Love Zach and Sebastian - would use these myself 100% - perfect combination of traditional, not dated or trendy and not overused.

Zander, Aidan and Kieran are also good names - I like Aidan best.

Arlo is a bit trendy to me.

Theo is too overused for me.

I love Aidan but I grew up in the north east where it’s quite common! Good strong name. Kieran is nice too. The others are all a bit trendy for me and will date, I think.

My baby is Sebastian and I adore the name and Seb, we get compliments all the time.

I did love Theo/Theodore too but just felt it was way too popular, but i do love the name.

I like Xander but I personally worried that people would pronounce it wrong and I found it a bit clunky to say.

Arlo is cute!

Aidan and Sebastian are my favourites, although Sebastian is very popular and I don't like Seb. I'd probably go Aidan Sebastian as first and middle.

I love Aidan and my grandad was called Kieran so I’ve always loved the name.

Xander and Sebastian are great names

Zander- nice as a shortening to Alexander and spelt Xander.
Aiden, Kieran - dreadful

Arlo - very popular recently. Ok name.
Zach - line as shortcut Zachary or Isaac
Zander - short for Alexander. People may spell it Xander.
Aidan - ok,
Kieran - ok
Theo - short for Theodore, quite popular also
Sebastian - ok

My thoughts on these exactly. Kieran just sounds like a variant of Karen to me. Aiden is just a name I don't like - I think the first syllable "Eh?" puts me off.

Sebastian I think is having an identity crisis. It used to be posh and seldom used, but is suddenly very used and is being cried out to young boys in every shopping mall. I'm not sure where it will land.

I also prefer Xander to Zander.

Arlo - currently very popular. Will probably date badly.
Zach - currently popular, either as Zachary, Zack, Zac, Zak, Zach etc
Zander - a fish. Xander short for Alexander is better.
Aidan - OK, would think Irish heritage. Slightly tarnished by Jayden, Kayden, Brayden.
Kieran - dated. would think Irish heritage, Ciarán is a better spelling.
Theo - boring and overused.
Sebastian - OK but will be Seb.

Names being popular might not be an issue but he'll probably be Theo Surname most of the time.

Zach or Sebastian

Love Zach - although prefer the Zack spelling if not short for Zachary.
Theo is nice but very overused.
I do like Arlo.
Not keen on the others!

All nice except Aidan for me. I would probably go for Alexander and shorten to Zander rather than just Zander if I went for that though.

Theo is lovely.

Zack is fab - short, punchy and fun sounding but personally I’d probably spell it this way if it’s not going to be short for Zachary (as Zack is the more popular spelling than Zach as a standalone).

Xander is also great and would be my second choice - again, I’d use this spelling, both because Zander is a fish and because Xander is just more popular (even as a standalone name rather than as an Alexander shortening).

Sebastian is nice but I dislike Seb and I’ve personally never known any who weren’t shortened. Aidan is also lovely - especially if you have Irish links (in England it often gets misspelled as Aiden though). Theo and Arlo are much too trendy sounding for me. Kieran feels a bit dated (90’s) although that may be area dependent.

Sebastian is too long. It will inevitably be shortened to Seb/by or Basty, both of which are awful

Aidan is the nicest from your list.

Theo is a lovely name but so so popular. If that would put you off I wouldn’t use it.

Arlo is lovely but again quite popular.

I prefer Zachary nn Zach to Zachary on its own but I do like the name.

Kieran is a nice name but I don’t know if it’s a bit dated - most I know are in their 30s.

Like Sebastian, Aidan and Zander.
