is the name of a male yellow Lab or a Golden Retriever.

blousy · 26/05/2008 23:36

Well, I know a dog called Bailey! Still think it's a sweet nme though.

Youcannotbeserious · 26/05/2008 23:36

i love it. Would have used it for my DS but it really didn't work with our surname.

eenybeeny · 26/05/2008 23:37

eenybeeny · 26/05/2008 23:38

GrimmaTheNome · 26/05/2008 23:39

But he'll grow up and eventually be Old Bailey

eenybeeny · 26/05/2008 23:39

I can see it in a dog. not a child. I mean I know its popular. I just dont like it.

berolina · 26/05/2008 23:42

I really do not get the surnames-as-first-names thing. There are so many beautiful names out there (admittedly I fond boys' names hard). .

This is for a frind btw.. not my taste. We had the dog conversation today. She argued that most mainstream names are pet names.. Max, Oscar, Felix etc.. She is right, but the latter seem somehow more acceptable for some reason?

No, it's horrible, sorry.

wrinklytum · 27/05/2008 00:14

spareparts · 27/05/2008 00:24

Bailey is not for me! I totally agree with you. My friend also likes Harper which I just find odd..

sorry - really don't like it...

bubblagirl · 27/05/2008 09:37

i liked the name bailey for a boy

and brayden liked all unusual names

and brendon was my fave

LynetteScavo · 27/05/2008 09:40

I don't really like it, but I don't think you should pay attention to what we think, if you like it.

Hulababy · 27/05/2008 09:41

I don't like it personally. However, if you like it, use it.

Notyummy · 27/05/2008 09:52

Ran it past my two friends who both teach reception. Apparently primary school teachers often look down the lists of kids starting reception, picking out the ones with dodgy names and having a sweepstake on who will cause trouble first...

Apparently Bailey would be instantly blacklisted as a bad 'un from the word go.

Possibly something to think about as the name obviously has assumptions attached, fair or not....?

Nancy66 · 27/05/2008 11:21

the chav name to end all chav names.....

Twinkie1 · 27/05/2008 11:23

Chavvy dog's name!

But then my son is called Max and everyone tells me that is a dog's name!

Youcannotbeserious · 27/05/2008 11:29

branflake81 · 27/05/2008 11:39
