Cute so long as his real name is Frederick.

Bertolli · 26/05/2008 22:24

love it
so cute

jingleyjen · 26/05/2008 22:25

really like it, DS2's friend is called Freddie, (not short for frederick)

MannyMoeAndJack · 26/05/2008 22:54

Great name. I would, personally, not use Frederick. Freddie is a name in its own right now.

kitsmummy · 26/05/2008 22:55

errr, a little bit twee? Cute and all that but I'm not fond of boys or girls names that end in the "ie" sound, freddie, bobby, archie, alfie, millie, maisie, just think they're a bit overly sweet

spareparts · 26/05/2008 23:49

Yes, Frederick is lovely. I could use just Fred too which is less twee.

puffling · 26/05/2008 23:52

Nephew just been named it. There's lots of them about apparently.

kitsmummy · 27/05/2008 07:40

Yes, i like Frederick (my son's middle name) and Fred, just not keen on Freddie as the "real" name

kayzisexpecting · 27/05/2008 07:42

I love Freddie. My DS is Freddie and its a lovely name.

eandh · 27/05/2008 07:55

dd1'boyfriend' at preschool is Freddie, he is so sweet and cute so I'll always think of Freddie's being like this now

JackieNo · 27/05/2008 08:02

I don't know any Freddies - did know a very cool Fred. Freddie makes me think of Krueger, I'm afraid. Sorry. I'm obviously in the minority here with that though.

wotulookinat · 27/05/2008 08:03

I like Freddie. I would have it is a nick name though and Frederick as the real name.
Good choice - like Freddie Mercury, a very talented man.

belgo · 27/05/2008 08:05

It also makes me think of Kreuger, but by the time this generation grows up that will be long gone.

I know a Frederik shortened to Frey - a very good name.

popsycal · 27/05/2008 08:06

i like it

minniedot · 27/05/2008 08:32

Sooner just Fred.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/05/2008 08:49

I know a 2 yo Freddy (he is with a y rather than ie), and it suits him. Don't like just Fred though.

Amandella · 27/05/2008 09:32

Love it!!

Hulababy · 27/05/2008 09:50

I really like the name Freddie/Fred.

Have to say though I an mot sure ont he full name Frederick, prefer just Fred.

schneebly · 27/05/2008 09:54

Very nice. Makes me think of that adorable little actor from Finding Neverland. Fred is nce too - DS1 had a friend called Fred.

ateles · 27/05/2008 11:43

Love it! My DS is Frederick, we intended on calling him Freddie, but he is now just Fred, which suits him perfectly!

MrsWeasley · 27/05/2008 11:49

Freddie makes me think of Freddie Kruger (was going to link a picture but thought better of it! ) Sorry
