Linnet is a bird (stress on first syllable).
Lynette is a form of Lynn/e (stress on second syllable)

I thought there was a Linnet in one of those Green Knowe books?? I know it's a bird as well but it just popped into my head when I saw Lynette.

my dd is NAOISE, it is an irish name, pronounced 'neesha', I love it!!
