Define what you mean by Sassy please.

SNoraWotzThat · 25/05/2008 19:01

I think of salsa dancers fro some reason
and then I think they might be called
Liani or Savanna or Zerlina

nobodysfool · 25/05/2008 19:02

Saskia?

learningallthetime · 25/05/2008 19:04

Names that imply strength, maybe someone independent, feisty, that sort of thing

Maya (after Maya Angelou, an amazingly strong woman)

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/05/2008 19:12

Well my dd is feisty and independent, and she's a Philippa/Pippa.

Saskia
Cora
Scarlett

janeite · 25/05/2008 19:14

maya angelou

janeite · 25/05/2008 19:16

She was sexually abused as a child and became mute for 5 years; later was a teenage mum but has done LOADS of stuff - amazing.

findtheriver · 25/05/2008 19:17

isadora

learningallthetime · 25/05/2008 19:27

Janeite - I've ordered "I know why the caged bird sings".

I'm loving all the suggestions, gonna show them to my DH later

Eve.

Jenbot · 25/05/2008 19:30

Freya doesn't sound sassy at all to me. Probably just because it sounds a bit like fey I imagine someone a bit fey.

LazyLinePainterJane · 25/05/2008 19:40

Missy

PortBlacksandResident · 25/05/2008 19:42

Harriet

learningallthetime · 25/05/2008 19:45

Manky - I've already got an Eva!

Twinkie1 · 25/05/2008 19:47

I vote for Harriet - then you can call them Harry when they are older as it sounds cool and sassy!

Oh and it is DDs name so I know it is super cool!

Freya is a bit drippy IMO!

janeite · 25/05/2008 19:47

Freya is a Norse goddess.

janeite · 25/05/2008 19:49

I was going for the "strong connotations" names, rather than sassiness.

Harriet is a lovely name though - I wanted it for dd2 but dp didn't like it. Men!

Sylvia (Plath/Pankhurst) another possibility.

Twinkie1 · 25/05/2008 19:51

Thought there was an article in the Telegraph or Observer this week about Maya Angelou and her daughter hated her!

LaDiDaDi · 25/05/2008 19:54

Sadie
Leila
Polly
Gina
Zoe
Wilma
Hattie
Uma

BigBadMouse · 25/05/2008 19:57

Oh I love Harriet too. My DH wouldn't allow it for DD2 ...seems to be a trend with that name and that suggests to me that men are scared of 'Harriets' due to their extreme 'Sassiness'
